I am required by the State of Oregon to practice fire drills once a month. I vary the time of day to help the children and provider evacuate the home quickly and safely. We will not do fire drills when the weather is not appropriate for the children to safety be outside. On days where the weather is not suitable to be outdoors, we will still review our evacuation plan, what the smoke detector sounds like, and what will happen in the event of a fire or emergency.
In a case where there is a true emergency and the kids and provider need to evacuate the home, parents and guardians will be immediately notified and further instruction will be given. Please make sure that all contact information is up to date as it is imperative that someone can be reached if such an event occurred.
Inclement Weather:
During serious weather, we will follow the Oregon City School District closures and will do our best to keep business running as usual. If we feel the surrounding area and property is unsafe for you and your child, we will close. We will give as much notice as possible.
In the event that the power or other major utilities goes out, the situation will be assessed and we may need to close early or for the entire day. We will do our best to provide as much notice as possible. No refund for services will be given as these situations may not be able to be planned ahead of time.
